If you are a swimmer with a disability who has not considered taking part in competitive swimming, why not start now?
Swimming is also a great way to have fun, keep fit and learn new skills.
The club offers ‘learn to swim’ and ‘improver’ classes through Runnymede Swim School. Swimmers who want to progress to competitive swimming then move to the club’s Squads.
Early
in 2006, the club appointed its first Disability Liaison Officer - Maria Neary,
to look at disability swimming within Runnymede Swimming Club. Maria will look
at all aspects of disability swimming and will help the club work towards
providing competitive swimming training and competition for disabled
athletes.
Runnymede Swimming Club has wheelchair access to the pool, as well as accessible parking and accessible changing room facilities. Runnymede pool also has a hoist for entry and exit to the pool if required. The club operates in accordance with the ASA Child Protection and Equal Opportunities Policies. It also operates a Code of Conduct for all its members and personnel.
