RUNNYMEDES HEAD COACH AWARDED

TOP COACHING CERTIFICATE

Runnymede Swimming Club are delighted to announce that their Head Coach Paul Eveleigh, pictured above, has just attained his level 4 ASA Coach qualification making him one of only 3 coaches working at this level in Essex.

Paul was sponsored by the Club for the course and has been working towards this qualification for the last 18 months including a 2 weeks residential course at Millfield School. His work at the Club over the last 5 years has seen some outstanding results with Runnymede rapidly becoming one of the most up and coming clubs in the County. Under his guidance the club has gone from strength to strength, increasing its membership and quality of swimmers, the depth in talent is showing in all areas of the pool. This year the Club has been promoted to division 1 of the Essex League winning all but one round of the competition in division 2. Last year Runnymede were promoted Division1 of the London area National Speedo League and finished in 14^th place securing the Clubs’ place for next season.

In the Open events so far this year Paul’s coaching has produced more finalists at County and Regional level than ever before, at the recent East Region Youth Championships 6 swimmers represented the Club resulting in 4 of them reaching the finals. Paul is now preparing the younger swimmers for the Age Group East Region Championships to be held in Norwich in June.

Chairman Andrew Clarke commented “ There is no doubt that the incredible success the club has achieved is a direct consequence of the hard work and professional coaching Paul and his team give to the swimmers, the results speak for themselves”.

Runnymede are currently looking to expand the top end of the Club and hope their recent success will assist with this. The club is also introducing a new policy supporting swimmers in Higher Education by subsidising their Membership and squad fees.
