JACK PETCHEY AWARD SCHEME

Runnymede S.C is delighted with the recent good news confirming that they have been accepted on to The Jack Petchey Achievement Gold Award Scheme; one of the successful grant schemes run by the Jack Petchey Foundation which helps youth organisation in this area.

The scheme is currently being operated in over 1000 schools and clubs and it enables participating organisations to acknowledge the effort, endeavour and achievements of their youth members in a positive and practical way. The Club selects one swimmer per month who they feel is deserving to receive an Achievement Award which comprises of a framed certificate and a sum of money (payable to the Club) to be spent on something that will be benefit the Club. The recipient of each monthly award also has an input as to their award is sent by selecting off a ‘wish list’ which the club are currently creating.

All the award winners throughout the year also attend an annual Presentation Ceremony where they receive a boxed medallion.

Alongside the monthly award the Club is able to nominate, once it has been operating its scheme for a period of six months; an adult helper for an annual award. This excellent scheme will provide the Club with some very useful additional funds to the value of £ 3,400 per year.

Runnymede’s first winner of the award for October 2007 was 15 year Matthew Winnell pictured receiving his award from the Clubs newly appointed Head Coach Stuart Jago.
