Runnymede S.C. took a small team of swimmers to the London Borough of Redbridge 100m Age Group Gala this weekend. This was a Licensed Level 1 Meet, and was attended by many of the counties top swimmers looking to achieve southern county and national qualifying times.

 

Sarah Wright had an excellent day in the girls 11 years/under age group winning the Gold medal in the Backstroke event in a personal best time of 1.16.60 and achieving her first southern county qualifying time. She also finished 5th in both the Fly and Breastroke events and 7th place in the Freestyle.

 

Charlotte Davis, (girls 12 years) who is currently producing some excellent 100m Butterfly times, swam yet another personal best time of 1.14.50 to win the Bronze medal and also swam a p.b. in the 100m Freestyle event finishing in 11th place.

 

Georgie Hunt (girls 11 years/under) also added to her extensive collection of medals this season with a Bronze medal in the Breaststroke, 5th in the Freestyle and 6th in the Fly and Backstroke.

 

Also swimming some excellent races was Charlie Beale (girls 12 years) finishing 6th in the Fly with an impressive p.b. of 1.18.24,  9th in the Freestyle with a p.b. of 1.09.24 and 11th in the Backstroke.

 

Samantha Knight and Charlotte Delicata also swam well in girls 12 years age group, Sam finished in 5th place in the Breaststroke and 13th in the Fly; Charlotte finishing 6th in the Backstroke and 10th in the Freestyle in p.b. time of 1.10.05.

 

In the boys events 10 years George Smith competing in the 11 years and under age group finished in 4th place in the Fly in a p.b. time of 1.23.20 and 13th in the Breaststroke.

 

Matthew Scott ( boys 13 years) swam well to finish in 9th position in both the Freestyle and Fly events.

 

Also competing for Runnymede were Harry Smith (boys 13 years) 11th in the Fly; Hugh Smith (boys 12years) 10th  in the Fly; Elliott Eveleigh (boys 12 years) 12th Fly; Alex Delicata (boys 11 years/under) 10th Fly, 12th Backstroke and 18th freestyle; William Scott (boys 11 years/under) 18th Fly.
